Tam Hawkins is the President and CEO of the Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce, where she previously served as the Vice President of Corporate Engagement & Membership. Her background includes corporate sales & marketing management roles for some of the nation’s most admired companies. Although well versed in large corporate space, her personal entrepreneurial experience with commercial real estate development has left her well-versed in the needs of small- to medium-sized business owners.
The Dallas native’s volunteer commitments attest to her passion for civic engagement on local, national and international levels. Tam is a board member of the East Austin Conservancy, a group committed to strengthening the fabric of East Austin by promoting affordable housing and economic diversity. She also is currently a member of the Austin Area Research Organization and serves on Leadership Austin, Texas Lyceum, Visit Austin, City of Austin Economic Prosperity Commission and Ronald McDonald House Central Texas boards.
Brooke Marendino is the Communications Coordinator for the Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce. Originally from Orange County, CA, She is a graduate of Ashford University with a Bachelor in Journalism and Mass Communications. She received her Associate's degree from Tallahassee Community College where she was a student-athlete on the softball team.
She has a passion for sports, sports journalism, and storytelling. Brooke is passionate about her faith and has worked in the children's ministry at her church since 2005. Her faith in God has instilled her to always be kind and helpful to others when needed. She has gone on multiple missionaries and has volunteered throughout her community. She loves to spend her free time taking her two dogs, Fiji the Maltipoo and Kobe the Doberman, on walks and to the park. Working out is a hobby of hers and she enjoys going to the beach, spending time with family, and trying new restaurants.
